Gaelic Learner's Corner

Postby GunChleoc » Wed Sep 05, 2007 8:11 pm

Cha d' fhuair mi fear agus rinn mi fear ùr an-dràsda... cò dhibh a th' ann ann a sheo mu thràth?
I haven't found one, so I made a new one... who of you is around already?

And welcome to everyone old and new, with little or lots of Gaelic! :D

Cha do thill mi dhachaigh ach an seachdain seo. Chòrd Alba rium glan! Sgìobhaidh mi tuilleadh nuair a bhios ùine gu leòr agam.
I didn't return home until this week. I loved Scotland! I'll write more when I have the time.

Hello Mara! I am very happy to see you here!

Tha mi gu math, chaidil mi gu leòr mu dheireadh thall. Bha cus ann airson ur deànamh nuair a bha sinn ann an Alba, 's gun ùine gu leòr ann airson ur cadal!
I am well, I slept enough, finally. There was too much to do while we were in Scotland, and not enough time for sleeping!

How's are you all today

Tha cùisean gu math sàmhach an-diugh ann an Inbhir Pheofharain, a bheil dad as ùr far a bheil sibh?
Things are quiet in Dingwall today, anything new wherever you are?

Tha mi toillichte gun do cheangail mi ris "The Stamping Ground" o chionn 's gu bheil cothrom agam a' Ghàidhlig a chleachdadh is bruidhinn mu dheidhinn a' chòmhlain-chiùil as fheàrr agam
I'm glad I joined The Stamping Ground beacause it gives me a chance to use Gaelic and talk about my favourite band

A friend of mine went to the US for a bit, and I went with her to the airport. It was too early for me and now I'm tired

Bha mi leisg, feumaidh mi aideachadh. :(

Bha torr agam ri dhèanamh ach bha mi direach leisg cuideachd.

Bha an t-sìde uabhasach math aig deireadh na seachdaine, ach cha b' urrainn dhomh a ghabhal leam dhan seachdain-obrach, gu mì-fòrtanach.

Halò, a Thim. Check your Gaelic book: thu( you singular) > leat; sibh (you plural/formal) > leibh.
Best not to mix the two, but not tragic for learners if it slips out wrong - people are happy that you're at least trying!

Tha mi toilichte d' fhaicinn an-seo, a Stìophain(?). Tha sinn feumach gu cinnteach air fuil ùr, mar a their iad...

Na gabh dragh, ged-thà! 'Chan e fasgadairean a th' annainn! :P

I was lazy, I have to admit.
I had a lot to do, but I was just lazy too.
The weather was really good at the w/e, but I couldn't take it with me into the working week, unfortunately.
Glad to see you here, S. We definitly need new blood. as they say!
Don't worry, we're not bloodsuckers...

Agus tha sinne a' coimhead air adhart ri na beachdan sin bho àm gu àm! :)

A bheil thu ag ionnasachadh Gàidhlig ann an Inbhir P. fhèin? A bheil thu a' seinn anns a' choisir Gàidhlig an seo, 's dòcha?

Bhiodh math ma bhios soidhnean anns a ' G. ann an Tesco, nach biodh?

Agus dè do bheachd mu dheidhinn na h- Acadamaidh ùr?

( Chan eil ceasnacheil a tha mi idir idir, bidh thu a' tuigsinn.. 8-) )

Bha latha dheth agam an-diugh agus mise a' cluiche le C is C.

Fàilte oirribh bhuamsa air a' bhùird brath. Chan e 'fasgadairean' a th' annain ach 's dòcha gu bheil e nas fheàrr fasgadh fhaighinn.

Ceistean:

Bha latha dheth ann an-diugh agus bha mise a' cluiche C is C.
There was a day off and I was playing CandC

Cha robh mi ag obair an-duigh agus bha mi a' cluiche C 's C
I was not at work / I did not work and I played CandC

Sgrìobh Gun Chleoc:

Fàilte chridheil ort air an t-sreath Gàidhlig againn!

We like to help ourselves improve, not always making a better suggestion though, but it should not outweigh other friendly contribution. Maybe you can help us? Sometimes we do and sometimes we don't and sometimes it takes us a lot of blue to find a correct solution hehe.

Nas fhèarr! :D

Chan eil mi cinnteach leis na rosgrannan eile.

Chluich mi Colin & Cumberland gu tric nuair a thòisich mi air ionnsachadh.
I played C&C otfen when I started learning.

'S e geam gu math feumail is èibhinn a th' ann.
It's a pretty useful and fun game.

Dh'ionnsaich mi an cànan ann an Goillspidh le mo charaid.
I learnt the language i Golspie with my friend

Chan eil mi anns a' choisir idir o chionn 's nach urrainn dhomh seinn, ach rinn mi beul aithris aig Mòdan Bhlàr Ghobharaidh 1996, Inbhir Nis 1997, Loch Abair 1999 is Dhùn Omhainn 2000. Is ann an Dùn Omhainn bhuannaich mi Bonn Oir Chomuinn Ghlaschu is an Eilein Sgìtheanaich. :D
I'm not in the choir because I can't sing, however I did recitation at the Blairgowrie 1996, Inverness 1997, Loch Aber 1999 and Dunoon 2000 Mods. And in Dunoon I won the Glasgow and Skye Association Gold Medal.

Bu toigh leam gu mòr sanasan Gàidhlig fhaicinn ann an Tesco ach chanainn-sa gum bidh muinntir a' bhaile a' gearran mar as àbhaist! :x
I would really like to see Gaelic signs in Tesco but I think the locals would complain as usual!

Chan mi cìnnteach mi dheidhinn far a bheil an sgoil ùr a' dol air a thogail, ach chan eil àiteachan nas fhreagarraiche anns a' bhaile :(
I'm not sure about where the new school is being built, but there isn't a more suitable place in the town.
