Beat the Drum souvenir disc (not working)

Postby Lionel » Mon Sep 10, 2007 8:40 pm

Hi !

I have just received my Beat the Drum souvenir disc and it doesn't work. My PC can't read it. Am I the only one or someone else has experienced the same problem ? Do you have any solution to find a way to read it.

Thanks for your help !

heres what you do.

Open the disk rom

Put the disk in.

Open JetAudio go to disk, I think its disk e, Open that and it should play.

If not go put the disk back in, open windows media, go rip. and play

try that

Have you tried it in a normal DVD player, Lionel? It' s just a normal unprotected DVD disc.

I know of someone in US who can play it on the DVD player, but not in her pc.

I can play it in both, but the sound is better on the pc.

You need a DVD-ROM drive and a software that can play DVD-Video. I think the current Windows Media Player does it, or get VLC, it's free any plays about everything.

There is also a silly difference between DVD+ and DVD- media. Some older players/drives can only do one of those, and it depends on the model which one it is.

If it still doesn't work, try it someplace else as well, and if you can't get it to work at all, maybe you have a defective copy and you could ask the office for a replacement. It looks like a burned DVD, so things like that can happen.

I don't know if it is related or not but the DVD is actually missing the audio_ts directory which I thought was a compulsory part of the DVD spec. I can read the disk on one of my PCs but none of the DVD software on that machine will play it. It does however play fine no my laptop (using WinDVD v5) and in my standalone DVD player.

Thanks very much for all your helpfull replies. I tried several times as advised above but nothing worked. I will try it on my friend's DVD player who is more recent than mine.

Save messing around, just send it back to the Office for checking. It could be a faulty one.

What a shame Lionel , after waiting so long for it too . I'd just send it back as spud said .
Some clever folk on here with all that advice though
