Grass at Drumnadrookit!!

Postby elaine » Wed Sep 05, 2007 9:29 pm

Heard through a very reliable source today that all the fields occupied by us at the concert from carparks, camping, and the (cough/splutter) arena were well paid for!! Each farmer that owned a field that was being used was paid £30,000 for it all to be put back in it's original condition.... :? All the fields used have to be re-seeded.... I can just see it now, we have done the damage with our cars, tents and feet, Bruce, Calum, Rory, Iain, Brian and Malcolm sowing the grass seed in all the fields... :o :o

Elaine... 8-)

A friend drove by the other day and the concert field is still in a mess. No grass showing yet although the autumn growing season is nearly upon us ;) Slainte

I stayed in a cottage belonging to Borlum Farm 2 years ago. If I remember correctly that field was only being used to grow grass for silage. No doubt the the harvesting had been done before the concert. :?:

I went past the fields last friday 31st Aug. and they had all been harrowed and reseeded so don't worry you will soon never know we had been there.

I'm not surprised that they were entirely ruined. That was some pounding they got, and the rampant littering probably didn't help either!
