Hi everyone

I just wanted to draw your attention to the fact that the Blair Douglas Band featuring Kathleen MacInnes is out on tour next week. This is your chance to see the band live before the big event at Scone Palace with Runrig.

Dates for next week are -

Thursday 16th July : Stornoway, HebCelt Festival 01851 702333

Friday 17th July : Oban, Skipinnish Ceilidh House 01631 569599

Saturday 18th July : Glasgow, Oran Mor 08712 200260 (http://www.seetickets.com)

Hope to see lots of you there.
Jacky :-)

Not long back from the Oran Mor gig, which I have to say was superb. Went to it only knowing two of his songs (both of which were played :D), and thoroughly enjoyed it. Only downside was being charged an extra 2 pounds 'booking fee' when I paid at the door... surely that isn't a booking? Fair play to the guy on the door, he was pretty apologetic, as it was nothing to do with him.

The music itself though was brilliant, with a good mix of more upbeat reels, with a fantastic lullaby thrown in with McInnes on vocals. Very glad my boss let me away early from work to get to the gig (work, ironically, being 2 floors above The Venue!)

Wouldn't it be great, if no-one ever got offended?
Wouldn't it be great, to say what's really on your mind?
I've always said, all the rules are made for bending,
And if I let my hair down, would that be such a crime?

Blair was in top form at Oban, along with the rest of the band. Kathleen MacInnes in particular sounded excellent. Mrs D even got to go back stage and see her 3 month old baby (I was looking after the drinks!!).

Speaking to Blair afterwards, it sounded like the Heb Fest gig went down really well and he was excited about the Glasgow one on the Saturday.

A certain Mr Cullen was on had making sure everything went well off stage. He really is a major asset to the Ridge machine.

All in all, a great night. Roll on Scone!!!
