Last gig - Next gig.

Postby Bydand » Mon Sep 03, 2007 12:58 am

Which band did you see at your last concert and who will you be going to see next?

For my last concert I was playing with my brass band at Brass In The Park which is a small festival of various concerts and a brass band contest for senior and junior bands. This is spread out over three days and today we played the Praise In The Park sunday concert and a massed bands concert including playing The Star Of Robbie Burns, The Rose Of Trawlee and Highland Cathedral with three brass bands and two pipe bands!!!

Next gig will be Dream Theater and Symphony X at Glasgow Academy on the 11th October.

Other possible upcoming gigs are Apocalyptica, Dimmu Borgir and The War Of The Worlds.

Saw Daimh and Dochas in Portree last Friday - brilliant! Julie Fowlis has a lovely voice although she didn't sing as many songs as we would have liked as she was appearing as part of Dochas so was playing the whistle some of the time, and full bagpipes for one number. She fiinished with an unaccompanied duet with Calum Alex MacMillan from Daimh then for the finale both groups came on stage and played together. :)

Next will be Runrig in Gloucester, then Bristol. :D

There is no return,
Once the seal's undone,
Morning dawning with life abounding,
But in time we all must fall,
And it seems to be this way,
Hearts change and brightness fades,
And it leaves you facing the days,
When your hope is blown apart,
Life is hard.

Only when the last tree has died & the last river has been poisoned & the last fish has been caught, will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last concert Runrig, probably next concert Runrig too - am so busy and on the road a lot, not to mention broke, that I doubt if I'll manage anything worth the mention in between! ;)

Hi From_t'North,
I am sure you will not be disappointed with the Donnie Munro Band, I have seen them lots of times, and they are really great and still going from strength to strength. They are a fine bunch of musicians, and Donnie still has a superb voice and all the old charisma. I am going to see them in Forres this weekend, and again in Langholm 2 weeks later. Can't make the Northern Lights Festival as I am taking my son to Uni that weekend, but I am sure you will have a great time. Apparently, Donnie's youngest son is doing some DJing at the festival too, in Smoo Cave.
Have fun ! ! ! !
