Re: Closure of Forum

Sorry I only just noticed what's happening as been ill the past couple of days.I'm really sorry to hear that the forum is to close. Thanks Crunchie for all your hard work in keeping it going so long. I joined just after the Borlum gig and really enjoyed the many discussions about the band and about ...

Re: Edinburgh Usher Hall 13 Feb

I'm not sure which remarks you and Owen are referring to that Bruce allegedly said. If you mean what Bruce said at the recent Glasgow and Edinburgh concerts and probably others that the band had a big meeting and don't agree on anything and haven't a clue what they will do next. It's not exactly new...

Glasgow & Edinburgh Concerts A Tale of Two Concerts

Sorry it's taken so long to write much about the Glasgow concert but it's been a busy couple of days . It's been a long time since Runrig played at the Glasgow Concert Hall at least five years maybe longer. It's a very different venue to the Barrowlands. It's advantage was that it allowed a more sed...

Re: Dundee Caird Hall

This was a curious concert and I left it feeling rather like Owen clearly felt after Aberdeen. As far as i was concerned, Dundee was really a gig of two halves. The Caird Hall was full and, indeed, I heard of someone who'd paid £350 for two tickets! I have to say that the support act was not my cup...

Re: Do you like 'The Story'?

I think you have got your shuttles mixed up. The shuttle that Laurel was on Columbia was destroyed on 1st Feb 2003 sadly I remember it all to well. The first space shuttle to be lost Challenger was lost on 28th Jan 1986 just over 30 years ago. Both of these incidents had a great effect on me as I ha...

Re: Do you like 'The Story'?

Have only listened to it 1.5 times and for the most part love it. I think one or two songs will take a while to grow on me. It's quite different a wee bit more bluesy/country then previous albums. The booklet is very interesting and sets the scene very well

Re: The story video

I presumed the pictures of the younger man were the older man thinking back to his younger self and his life in the Hebrides. The car the business man gets in to has an I Love Hebrides sticker on it and I presumed that part implied that he may be a posh successful business man but his heart is still...

Re: New album speculation

Sorry Eilidh but anyone who can post on Facebook can post on a website that they own- it takes no more skill and as to cost, well the cost of the website is there whether or not they are posting on it. I don't object to the lack of news from the band; I object to the use of facebook to transmit wha...

Re: New album speculation

I am not a fan of Facebook either but have grudgingly enrolled in the Runrig fans group there with the aid of another fan here. I don;t think it's a matter of disinterest on part of the band but that they don't have a big back office team. Posting to Facebook or Twitter is something band members can...

Re: RIP Chris Harley

I never met Chris but I thought he was one of the best producers Runrig ever had and it was great to see him on backing vocals with them quite a few times. It is sad that he is gone and he will be sadly missed.

Re: Runrig's Future

Why is it every post by Owen predicts the end of runrig Gary, I feel that is a little bit unfair and completely untrue, surely as a Runrig fan (who by the way has done some excellent covers of a few Runrig songs might I add) you must feel a little frustrated too at the fact there is NO news, howeve...

Re: Are we all tired of the forum?

Why use Facebook or 'whatever' when there is an official Runrig site for news...... I see no gigs for Scotland or the peninsula happening for the rest of this year. Mr Guthro has his own tour of 'mostly' Denmark with the occasional German foray as a done deal for Nov/Dec. In recent years there have ...

Re: Are we all tired of the forum?

Whilst I understand and agree with a lot of negative comments here about Facebook I do find some social media such as Twitter quite useful and have read a fair amount about Runrig there and posted there occasionally. However I have been unable to find or subscribe to most of the Facebook stuff re Run...
