Re: The story video

The new Wire should help clear up any confusion! Calum has written an article about the making of the video.

Re: Wire 12/2015

Mine arrived today. A big article by Brian on the making the album, article by Calum on the The Story video, Malcolm on his guitars and lots of other articles, pictures, etc. Top quality all the way through as usual. It has just got my excitement level for the new album and tour turned right up! I h...

Re: The Story - Final Runrig Album?

Well said Annedorte! I must admit, when I read the comment under the video that this would be their last studio album I felt like someone had punched me in the stomach! However, the excitement of the years still ahead with the band, all the adventures still to have, all the roads and miles to travel...

The Wire 76

The new Wire has started hitting door mats today. Most of the content is taken up with, as the front cover says, "Exclusive New Album Update!". The album title and dates of the first promo single release and proposed album release are also included. To quote Rory from the article, exciting...

Re: New album speculation

Personally, I enjoyed that last Wire very much indeed. There may not have been a lot of new information in it as, well there was not much to tell! They were about to go into the studio to record the new album so I expect there will be more information on that in the next issue. Just a general point,...

Re: RIP Chris Harley

Such sad news. I met Chris in a pub in Stirling on 30 August 1997 – Donnie’s final night with the band. I was not feeling too good as the previous two nights had been emotional and I knew this one was going to be even worse! Chris was sitting next to me and was feeling the same way. I nearly missed ...

Re: Wire 75

Yes, Mr Postman has just delivered the latest bumper edition (with Christmas card, of course!). Lots of great pictures and articles as well as Calum's review of the Summer festivals. Has brought back some great memories of Tonder for me.

Re: ***SPOILER ALERT*** SUMMER SET LIST!

I can’t recall the full set list but nothing new from the English tour. I was at Greve, which was a ‘warm up’ for the upcoming festivals. It may well be that the festivals set list will be shorter than Greve in any case. Anyway, they kicked off with Dance Called America and they ended with Loch Lomo...

Re: Danish Dates

Just seen the new Summer Festivals T-Shirt on Facebook and it looks cool!

It is! I wore it when I flew into Aberdeen on the morning after the Greve concert. I never asked Wolfy how many had been made. I hope the Shop will get a few to sell after Tonder for those not going to any of the concerts.

Re: ...and The Wire too!

Sorry I missed you Lancs. We did frequent a few 'watering holes' on the day (even a coffee shop!) but I was relatively incognito on this trip as there was no kilt - and no Skyeman!

Roll on Tonder when those anomalies will be addressed!

Re: ...and The Wire too!

Another great copy of the Wire. Managed to get a good look through it before heading off to the Greve concert. Guys on top form as usual. Smart new t-shirt to add to the collection as well!

Re: Support Acts

As I recall, this was a subject in a very early edition of the Wire. Off the top of my head I would include Carol Laula, Tonight at Noon, Ruth Sutherland, Grant Macaskill, Picture House, Tinderbox, Julie Fowlis, Fred Morrison, Kathleen MacInnes, Wolfstone, Hot House Flowers, Capercaillie, The Vaters...

Re: Runrig on Welsh channel S4C April 15th

As far as I know, Malcolm is a Sgitheanach through and through! I believe many people who lived on Skye around that time were taken to Inverness for the birth. My sister is a couple of years older and is annoyed that her birth certificate has Inverness on it and not somewhere on Skye! As I say to he...
