Re: Runrig's Future

I Love the dishcloths - washing up will never be the same again :D I wonder what he would do with a pan scubber :? Refering to the Rolling Stone bits and bobs earlier - don't you think RR are aging better than Mick Jagger? I'm of the opinion of what will be will be, everything will change eventually...

Re: Old English or Scottish name

A lot may have been biblical in orign and the traditional names. Like today some may have been related to the politics of the day - afterall a cavellier is unlikely to have called a son Oliver! Exactly what date are you looking for - if you have a particular date in mind you might like to go around ...

I hope I haven't offended anyone with my remarks, my comments were based on the fact that it would have been interesting to meet her and have a cup of tea. I enjoyed her contributions like many of the people here and wish she would drop in again and join in the banter. As a general comment, we all c...

Re: Rorysbabe

I was wondering where she was. I was pottering around South Uist a week aor so ago and wondered if she had an independence flag above her home - the only flag I saw in a back garden was a skull and crossbones!

Re: Wild Camp Experience

I was in a huff at this point so I said I was camping there and staying there all weekend, so I did :P . That spot was the spot for my 36 hour solo experience too. Again, I had periods of boredom, agitation and tiredness but I also had periods of happiness and contentment. I started writing a funny...

Re: Wild Camp Experience

The control for me was my own personal control. In long grass (heather, reeds, bumpy ground etc) I found myself losing self control and 'having' to rely on the leaders to guide me through it. Trusting the leaders wasn't the problem, it was the fact that I had lost all self control that bothered me ...

Re: Wild Camp Experience

...., it certainly does open your senses to what you can and can't do; what you feel and don't feel comfortable with; what is around you etc. Reflecting back some more (now the week has gone on a bit) I guess I enjoyed it more than I hated it. I will enjoy next weekend better though because it will...

If I'm right the T-shirt you are talking about has Spud in it!. I think he must have been somewhere on the Yorkshire moors or dales. A great area for walking.

Re: Nottingham Concert

If Nottingham iosn't full they might move people from the top tier down to a lower one to fill it out. They have done that on one occasion I went it was a full house.

Nottingham have a poster up for RR now and it is in their booklet of who is performing and when.

Re: help needed - information about English school in 1960

We had grey knickers - knitted ones which were made of cotton - rather like what is used for T-shirts- you could get bottle green, navy brown and grey I think. Failing the 11+ could be a major disater in your life as it affected the quality of education you had and could severly restrict your job pr...
