Time to say good-bye - a love letter

My dear Stamping Ground Forum, Although having been a Runrig fan since the very early 1990s,I discovered you only in 2010. Soon, I started to really like you: The weird guys on here, the very special characters, the nice people. Strange posts, extremely interesting posts, boring ones, childish ones....

Re: Closure of Forum

Thank you Crunchie for your explanation. Possibly, it's some sort of comfort that the problem seems to be money in combination with some bugs in the website, in combination with 'not so perfect' website administration at the office. I do have your email address, Bine........ DT You're right, ...

Re: Closure of Forum

This is just so sad. Thank you so much indeed, Crunchie, for all your efforts. Repairing a broken link on a website is a matter of about 3 minutes. One could speculate that the link was intentionally broken to isolate the forum. I had once discovered a broken ticket-sale-link on the official website...

Well, I thought so.
Possibly, I will reconsider my antipathy to facebook some day. But not today.

Re: Do you like 'The Story'?

Adding Solman, I count three (on here :( )
Might be that all the others are facebook or twitter users...
Suppose, you're not playing it anymore, DT?
What a pity.

Same here.
Definitely not forgotten.
Although, I must admit that the CD itself really has its place in the cabinet now.
But the album is always with me on my mobile.
Still listening to it all the time

But people do not necessarily have to share your opinion.
I don't. Plus, I'm not sure, if the possession of 1500 CDs automatically makes someone a music expert.

Re: Do you like 'The Story'?

I'm completely with you, Herzchen. @ davidwalters: Don't worry, people on here tend to express their opinions clearly, no matter if positive or not. So they will definitely dare to say, if they don't like an album. Quality of an album, even sound quality is a matter of taste. Sorry that 'The Story' ...

Right, it's the chorus from 'Cnoc Na Feille' from the album 'Heartland'.

Re: Do you like 'The Story'?

Glad to hear you finally decided to buy 'The Story', DT ;) Good to hear that you consider it to be a 'decent enough' album. That's not bad, at least. :) Would be delighted to read that it grew to something special for you - as it did for me. Although, somehow I have a feeling that it is not so easy ...

Re: Edinburgh Usher Hall 13 Feb

I've said this a few times, owens comments are always around the death of the band and feeling that things aren't right. I think we need to remember these are the views of one person and I think it says it all when I read the Aberdeen review on here and thought "that sounds like an Owen review...

I'm absolutely with you: I love, love, love this brilliant album. And the longer I listen to it, the more I love it. But somehow, your post sounds like there are quite a lot of negative opinions about 'The Story' ????? So far, I haven't detected one of those on here .... :? Are you ta...

Re: Für alle deutschen Runrig Fans

Thanks, DT. (Both for the 'daft' and for the 'excellent') ;) :D But my point about lyrics translation is the following: As far as I'm capable of assessing this, the German translation above shows that the translator understood the words and felt their magic deep in his heart. But to feel magic and t...

Re: Tour Support

Usually, I'd prefer the format without any support act as well, but I hope for a support act for Edinburgh Castle.
My problem is that we will arrive in Edinburgh at the same time when gates open. So, a support act would give me some more time to get up to the castle ;)

Re: Für alle deutschen Runrig Fans

Dear Rudi, As much as I agree with your opinion about the songs, I consider it to be inappropriate and impolite to write a German-only post in an English language forum. There is a German Runrig forum (Scoteire) where you could easily have posted your translation into German. My own English is not r...

Re: Do you like 'The Story'?

I've just found out on youtube that Runrig were on German TV on January 28th (Morgenmagazin) - which I had totally missed, although I had two days off in order to reduce my overtime. Interviews with Rory and Calum plus a live version of The Story performed by all band members (minus Bruce :?) Worth ...

Do you like 'The Story'?

I had pre-ordered the limited edition box at Amazon, and very early this morning, I've received an e-mail from Amazon saying that 'The Story' is now ready for me to download. Which I immediately did, because the 'physical' edition had not arrived yet. I had just very briefly listened into the pre-re...
